Building Links to your Website for Page Rank
November 21, 2008
David Marc Fishman asked:
The amount of quality links pointing to your website determines the popularity of your websites with many of the search engines, so it is very important to obtain quality links. However, you need to know where your website stands in the search engine rankings in order to see how much work you need to do to increase and maintain that popularity rating.
Another way to build links is through free content creation or free article submissions. When creating your website you will need to fill your site with fantastic content and make updates so other sites want to link to your site. Search engines are now smart enough to know that content is related, so, links from relevant sites are more important then links from sites which are irrelevant.
The assumption still is that if a site has valuable content or services to offer that other webmasters will link to that particular site. Most importantly, work on your content for natural linking from other websites. It is hard to get one way links but if you have good content that goes far beyond other sites people will want to link to you, it is still harder to get one way links than it is to get reciprocal links.
Since page rankings is very important to the major search engines, and links influence this, it is important to create a game plan on how to build links to your site. A well laid out plan will help in establishing the overall link plan and strategy to drive traffic to your site. As time goes on your site will grow and your page rank will get better and you will have better chances securing quality links. As you website continues to grow and build in popularity you will need to quality links from other sites pointing to your site to keep your rankings. Link building never stops, if you stop link building and other sites stop linking to you, you could possibly lose your ranking on the search engines.
The amount and quality of links you need will depend on the competitiveness of the keyword phrases for which you are optimizing. If you put in the time and work on your link building efforts over time you will see results in the long run.
Article directories work with many different partners and by writing articles your articles can show up on many different sites. Your best bet in these times is to write articles and submit it to article directories. By using article submission services and directory submission services you are able to increase your ranking to your website, by submitting you are creating one way links back to your site.
Using automated tools are not link farms, the reason for this is because you decide who you want to trade links with each and every week. Continue building quality links and you will see that in time it will all pay off.
Getting the one-way link is more difficult to obtain than reciprocal links, but the pay off will come if you get solid long-term links and you will see the search engine ranking results increase.

Leave No Stone Un-turned When Building Links To Your Website.
November 21, 2008
Darren Mclaughlin asked:
It’s easy to get into a rut when it comes to building links. In many ways, link-building is the most frustrating part of the search engine marketing business. You can’t afford to ignore the work, because it’s just so important to your overall success, but it can often be frustrating, tedious, and time consuming work. If you only use one method of link building, you are extremely vulnerable to an algo change by the search engines. For this reason, you need to ensure you get links to your website from a number of methods, rather than relying on just one technique that may be negatively profiled at some point.
Most people who build links don’t keep careful records of who they trade with, and don’t monitor the trades closely. This ends up meaning they link to a bunch of bums who have quietly dropped their links back. This happens so often, I can almost say it’s guaranteed to happen, especially if you compete in any keyword category considered to be competitive (i.e. for money). Link trading is still a great source of quality backlinks, despite what naysayers may tell you, but make sure you take a good look at the sites you lin to and always see if the page is cached in Google. This will save you a world of headaches later on. Automating this process is the best solution.
Other methods of acquiring fresh backlinks are to submit to the ever growing article directories and websites on the internet that allow for and encourage the submission of free-for-reprint articles. There are several growing submission services which will automate this process, so if you are well-versed in a subject, you can greatly increase the readership of your website by article submissions.
You can always purchase links from established web directories and related websites. Plan your budget for a good mix of both types of links, and spread your spend across as many websites on distinct IP address ranges as you can. $1,000 spent very well on link development can make a huge difference in your link popularity and the success of your wesbite. When you look to purchase links, think quality and not quantity. Think of purchasing links primarily for the traffic it can bring to your website. That way, any search engine ranking improvements are secondary, and you earn back your link purchase money by the visitors who convert on your website.
Don’t overlook Press Releases as a great source of direct traffic and potential backlinks. If you do something truly newsworthy, and publish it widely enough, you can expect a great number of visitors in a short amount of time. Who determines what is newsworthy? I’ll leave it up to you to decide. But suffice it to say, if you can come up with a clever promotional idea, your link building job will get easier and easier. People link to you fastest of all when they’re genuinely interested in your website, so try to make your site worthy of all the links you get! Once people find your website and love it, word of mouth will be all of the advertising you’ll ever need.

Directory Submission, and the "proper" Way of Building Links to your Website to Generate Traffic
November 21, 2008
Tyler Dewitt asked:
For any web master, or e-commerce website owner, we all know that building links into you website is a very important process, but there is some things to be aware of when building links, and there is a proper way of building links.
One thing I’ve always done when I’ve first started a website was to build links to it by doing directory submissions, high quality directory submissions, and article submissions. This process can sometimes be a link bait effect specially with article submissions.
When doing article submissions, that give the “viewers” a more clear look at what you have to offer on your website, and if its something very pro efficient, and they find it interesting they might just link you, and spread the word to there Internet friends, or just there average general friends.
Some things to realize about doing article submissions is to always make sure you put your keywords inside the title of the article, the reason I say this is cause a big majority of the time this is what going to show up in the search engines, so say someone is searching for “widgets”.
Well its a possibility that your article link could show up, and by them going to your article, and reading about what your author published, or you published they might just find it interesting and check further into your website, just be sure to put more then 1 keyword in your title, and mix them up.
Now when were submitting to directories we always want to keep your “keyword”, inside the anchor text because when the robots/spiders go search through the web there valuing the anchor text the most from ibl(inbound links) to you, and this will give you a major boost if done right, and have got enough of these links.

Build Links And Popularize Your Site
November 21, 2008
Alpna asked:
What is Link Building?
Link-building is the process of obtaining inbound links from external websites to your own site to improve both direct referrals (people visiting your site by clicking on your links) and search engine ranking. It can be very difficult to get quality inbound links so I am listing a few proven methods that you can use to build back links that will help you boost your sites search engine rankings.
1: Article submissions
Write an article on a topic related to your site, then submit it to free article sites. Your article can then be reprinted all over the web, always with a link back to your website.
2: Press Release
Press releases can be very effective tool for alerting the media to your website and getting publicity through media coverage. You may include link to your site in the press release, there are number of press release sites for example prweb dot com
3: Free directory submissions
You can receive a free inbound link by submitting to hundreds of free directories. Just make sure you follow their submission guidelines and then be patient as it may take several months for your site to be listed.
4: Paid directory submissions
Why pay for directory listings if you can get them for free? Many webmasters choose to buy directory listings, for several reasons. First of all, your site will generally be listed much quicker (in most cases usually within 24 hours). Also, you can often get a higher quality link from a paid submission than a free submission as most of time paid directory will higher pagerank.
5: Three way link exchanges
Link exchanges are arguably not as helpful as they once were, but 3 way links are still excellent. For example you own Site A and you will provide a link Site B and Site C will provide you with a inbound link.
6: Forum posting
Join forums related to your site and become an active member of forums. Of course, you can include a link to your site in your forum signature.
7: Blog posting
Find blogs to your site and leave relevant comments on blog posting and leave a link to your site within the comment.
